Our acting lessons aim to teach our students the full range of techniques and styles in order to become as rounded and versatile a performer as possible, all whilst enjoying ourselves thoroughly. Professional instruction is very carefully created in order to allow our students to explore and employ anything from the basic techniques, such as diction and projection, to more complex skills like the use of tension, movement, and deep and interesting character development. Our students also enjoy a varied and fun range of genres and situations, in which to hone their skills. Improvisation games are often a good starting point for any session, not only to get the creativity flowing, but because they are generally hilarious, then depending on the session, our students could be working on anything from devising their own scene's in groups (given a brief), to rehearsing for one of our fantastic shows.
Here at Fusion, the emphasis is always on working in groups of all sizes, with students of very varied ages and backgrounds, and this is of the utmost importance during our acting/rehearsal sessions. Performing within the group teaches our students teamwork skills, gives them confidence in themselves and teaches public speaking techniques that will quite easily adapt to be used in everyday life. Just ask our teachers what performing with a youth theatres has done for them. More importantly, who wouldn't enjoy being a zombie one week, a superhero the next, and a potato the week after?
